Prerequisite: Possess a valid Massachusetts LTC.

Overview:
This class is intended for all individuals who possess a valid LTC and want to improve their skills drawing & shooting their own handgun from a hip holster.  In this class, students will learn how to grip, draw, move, and fire their handgun for self-defense (not target shooting).  The first half of the course will be in a classroom practicing with “dummy” rounds.  The second half of the course will be on the range performing live fire exercises.

Topics:
The two-handed grip, five fundamentals of pistol shooting, common stoppages & clearing them, verbal commands, how to draw from a hip holster, scanning & assessing for threats, moving to & shooting from multiple positions.

Students should plan to bring the following to this course:

• Payment - Check, Money Order or Cash. Make check or money order payable to: Franklin Rod & Gun Club, Inc.
• A valid LTC
• Handgun, 150 rounds of ammunition (no hollow point, wadcutter or semi-wadcutter bullets) and a hip holster
• One extra magazine / speedloader and holding device
• Eye and Ear protection
• Concealment clothing
• Note taking material
• A positive attitude
